How to feed 9 billion people in 2050 without destroying our planet? And if insects are part of the answer, how to get them on our menu? Brussels start-up KRIKET created Belgium’s first cricket bar to start a movement of believers and changemakers.


Michiel and Anneleen grew up on a chicken farm. They wondered: what if they could outperform their parents and promote crickets as the smartest protein source out there? In 2017, they created KRIKET, Belgium’s first cricket bar. Three years later, they’ve set up partnerships with among others Colruyt Group, Eurowings, Lidl, AS Adventure,… pursuing their ultimate goal: to make crickets mainstream.
