About this speaker
Pierre-Nicolas Schwab will introduce this guest speaker tackling the building blocks Personal & Trust of the Meaningful Marketing Framework.
The Meaningful Marketing Framework has been developed by BAM as a holistic manifesto and a prototype for companies to evaluate themselves. These tools should allow organisations to look at their current positioning and, with the marketer as a guide, to map out a route based on the values and trends of tomorrow. Click here for more info.
- Personal: the use of data and technology to deliver a better experience
- Trust: respect for the client and the brand (authenticity)
Explaining recommendations and user trust
The complexities of many advice-giving systems often lead to people struggling to establish why a system chose what it did, to identify which alternatives were considered, and to determine why these alternatives were not selected or suggested. In other words, such systems are opaque, and a human (and particularly a non-expert) often struggles to understand their reasoning. During his talk Mesut will describe how to measure trust, and outlines key design considerations for both algorithms and interfaces that improve user trust in recommender systems.
Mesut Kaya is a Research Engineer at Delft University of Technology. He completed his PhD at the University College Cork in 2019. His primary research focuses on diversity in recommender systems. As part of Deft Data Science, Web Information Systems, Epsilon research lab, he is assisting other members of the group with development of research tools. He also continues to do research on recommender systems.
