About the presentation
Le Soir exists since 1887. Its mission was to provide high quality and independent news to the Belgian citizens. Today, 133 years later, this mission is still the same. However, since the mid-nineties and the rise of internet, the written press is drastically transforming its model. In the current digital era, in which a lot of information is available for free, getting subscribers paying for your content requires you to shift some basic paradigms.
Olivier De Raeymaeker has been the CEO of Le Soir, which is part of media house Rossel Group, since September 2017. He joined the leading French-speaking Belgian quality newspaper as COO in May 2016.
Olivier joined Belgian mobile operator BASE Company in 2008, going on to become Chief Marketing Officer in 2012. Prior to that, he was Director of Business Strategy at telecom equipment vendor Alcatel-Lucent.
He started his career as a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in Paris, spending five years mainly focused on strategy and marketing assignments within consumer sectors such as telecom, utilities, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), and luxury.
Olivier holds a Master of Science in Business Engineering from the Solvay Brussels Schools (ULB).
