Summary
Belpop Bonanza (est. 2013) is the quality label under which Jan Delvaux and Jimmy Dewit (a.k.a. DJ Bobby Ewing) create theater shows, television programmes, books, CDs, game boxes, quizzes, and walking tours, all centered around the finest moments in Belgian music history. Their work is infused with expert knowledge and a good dose of humour.
Belpop Bonanza Superstar is the duo’s 8th stage production. They have created four regular theatre shows, paid tribute to the legendary Will Tura (Tura Special), thanked the Dutch (Merci Nederland), and tailored more than 25 shows to specific towns and regions (Belpop Bonanza City Specials).
Biography
Jan Delvaux (1962) developed a passion for Belgian pop music at a young age. He has written books on the subject, was the external hard drive of the Belpop TV show on VRT Canvas, and can be heard every Saturday afternoon on Radio 1. According to Bart Peeters, he knows more about Belgian pop music than Wikipedia.
Jimmy Dewit (1971) is a music creator, selector, and commentator. He composes soundtracks for TV series, creates audio for commercials, DJs as Bobby Ewing both solo and with Discobar Galaxie, and is a founding member of Belpop Bonanza.
